BREWERIES

by Female Abroad

Being from Vancouver and craft beer being really big up here, we were interested in the beer scene while we were in Fort Lauderdale as we had a weekend to kill. It looks like at this time there are only a couple of breweries so we will have to see what we get to visit while down there. Keep in mind that COVID may have killed some of these places so check before going.

26 Degrees Brewing Company - 2600 E Atlantic Blvd, Pompano Beach

With space for over 400 people this place makes enough of a variety of beers to satisfy everyone's taste.

Flagler Village Brewer - 551 N. Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale

Found above Brass Tap this place tries to make unique beers every week so make sure to check back for the rotating taps!

Hollywood Brewing Company - 290 N Boardwalk, Hollywood

After a long day at the beach head over to this place for unlimited beer and appies for $40/person (2019 prices).

Invasive Species Brewing - 726 NE 2nd Ave, Fort Lauderdale

This place mixes tradition with innovation, creating some of the tastiest beers in the area.

Mack House - 9118 W State Road 84, Davie

Enjoy some classic Nintendo while trying out a mixture of beer from the area as well as things made in-house.

Park & Ocean / Shady Brewing - 3109 E Sunrise Blvd (Birch State Park), Fort Lauderdale

Shady Brewing is the in-house company that brews for this restaurant that is found within Birch State Park (with a view of the beach, hence the name).

Tarpon River Brewing - 280 SW 6th St, Fort Lauderdale

Opened early 2018 this newbie has a small selection to choose from but so far it has been a hit with the locals.

Can't Decide Where to Go?

Sometimes going on a pub crawl or an alcohol-based tour will help you by visiting multiple places you want to go, or it might be something you did not even think of doing. Check out these tours that I have either taken or had clients take. Click on the titles for more information, to check availability, and to purchase.

  1. Pedibus Pub Crawl in Fort Lauderdale
Check out some of downtown Fort Lauderdale’s hottest spots on this pub crawl on wheels. Choose to pedal this 15-passenger quadracycle or have your guide do the legwork while he or she steers around the streets of Las Olas and the Himmarshee Village neighborhood of historic downtown Fort Lauderdale. See all the cool spots for a drink. It’s a new and exciting way to see Fort Lauderdale.

  2. Champagne Sunset Cruise in Ft. Lauderdale
End the day relaxing on the Atlantic Ocean with this sunset cruise. Hop aboard a comfortable catamaran for this evening excursion and take in views of the mansions on “Millionaires Row” and the Florida coastline. Then, head out to the Atlantic Ocean and catch the sun set, casting fiery hues of orange and red on the water.

  3. Gin Making Experience
Part distillery tour, part science class, you’ll make your own gin in this informative class with a local. Taste different types of gin and learn about the distillation process. Then choose botanicals to make your own gin flavor—after a 90-minute distillation process, bottle and label your custom gin to take with you.
