11 Unique things to do in LLA

by Female Abroad

Due to its enormous size, Los Angeles is one of the largest cities on the west coast, if not the largest, which means there are countless entertaining things to do in L.A. In this wonderful city, there is something to do for everyone, including tours, theme parks, and nature viewing. Though it could seem a little overwhelming, here are the top eleven things to do in Los Angeles.

  1. Catch a view of a Celebrity: Los Angeles is most well-known for being a celebrity city so there are numerous excursions that visit the homes and locations of celebrities as a result.
    1. Tour Hollywood: If you want the full, touristy experience then you could take the TMZ bus tour but I would recommend Glitterati which will put together a custom tour based on your fave celebrities plus they don't use buses so they can get you to places that most tourists are unable to see on the larger trips.
    2. Studio Tour Hollywood: Although there are many things to do in Los Angeles, you should not pass up the chance to see a real movie studio. Warner Brothers is a popular choice as guides will take you through the sound stages, TV houses, and lots where some of your favourite movies and TV shows are produced as part of their deluxe tour. Additionally, you will go to Stage 48: Script to Screen, where important stages of the production process are displayed.

  2. Head to the Beach: besides sun bathing, there are quite a few fun activities that you can do there.
    1. Segway on the Beaches: Santa Monica, Long Beach, and Venice beaches are among the attractions of Los Angeles. Renting a Segway allows you to explore the area without wearing out your legs, which is available at several of these beaches. As you ride along and explore the dozens of stores and eateries on the boardwalk, feel the beach wind.
    2. Beach Brunch: Numerous eateries provide brunch on the beach, all you have to do is head to the beaches around LA and pick a restaurant. Brunch is one of the favourite meals in LA (especially if bottomless mimosa's are included!) plus eating in the crisp coastal air enhances the flavour of everything.

  3. Farmers Markets: Following brunch you will want to do the next favourite thing of the locals - visiting a Farmers Market. Los Angeles may be a big metropolis, but that doesn't mean it lacks fresh fruit. Farmers markets may be found all around the city, but the largest one is held each week during the spring and summer in the downtown area. Look no farther if you're looking for locally produced food or artisan goods.

  4. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Since opening in 2016, the most popular theme park is the Wizard World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. Here you can visit Hogwarts as well as other well-known locations from the novel, like as Diagon Alley and Gringotts Bank, where an exciting ride is waiting.

  5. If you enjoy heading out on the water then you'll want to check out:
    1. Catalina Island: This tiny, vehicle free island is something that every lover of nature should see. Here you can enjoy the outdoors as well as several activities like hiking, fishing, and surfing.
    2. Whale Watching: All along the West Coast, excursions will take you far into the Pacific Ocean, where you will enjoy viewing these graceful creatures up close to the point of practically touching them. This is one of the top things to do in LA if you love nature and animals.
    3. Latin Dance Cruise: Do you enjoy dancing and travelling to far-off places? The largest Latin dance cruise in the world, the Aventura Dance Cruise, is something you ought to try. From Long Beach (about an hour outside of LA), this boat sails to Ensenada, Mexico where you'll be treated to delicious food, dance workshops / seminars, and enjoyable beach parties that go late into the night on the way.

  6. Skyslide: California's tallest outdoor observation platform is called Skyspace (1,000 feet above the city) which is where you can enjoy an incredible perspective of the entirety of Los Angeles from the US Bank Tower. In addition, Skyspace boasts the first sky slide in history, which descends over the city from the observation deck to a lower level of the tower.

  7. See the Hollywood Sign: Have you ever longed to get a close-up look at the Hollywood sign? One of the best ways to see it up close (well, as close as you can get to it) is a horseback excursion. Sunset Ranch's has a ride that takes you up to the sign while providing breathtaking views of Los Angeles, San Fernando, and the Pacific Ocean in addition to the Hollywood sign. The best part is that when you go back to the ranch, there will be catered BBQ waiting for you.
